A Little About Mr. Polish New Castle Radio
Born and raised here in New Castle, PA. Robert graduated from Union Area High School in 1989. And if you wondering Rob does have a small musical backround. During his High School years he played the Trumpet in the High School band under the direction of Henry Krupa (former RayTones Band member) Upon graduating he enlisted in the Air Force for 4 years and continued playing in the Air Force Drum & Bugle Corp during his training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas and later went serve as A Medical Service Specialist/EMT and was stationed at Andrews AFB, MD where he spent time working on A Surgical Medical Ward later transferring into the Intensive Care Unit. Rob also served as a volunteer EMT for The Clinton VFD in Prince George's County. Upon completing his enlistsment in 1993 he returned back to New Castle.
After returning to New Castle, Rob eventually found himself changing careers and in 1994 Started working for Quality Rolls which is now know as Superior Forge and Steel where he's had many job positions from a manual lathe operator, CNC Lathe and Mill Operator and has also dabbled in the QA Department as a draftsmen, Inspector, and UT Inspector along with other duties during the years.
In May of 2005 he was approached by The American Polish Central Commitee now know as the Polish Americans of Lawrence County to be there website designer. During this time Rob slowly was getting into the Polka scene as he participated in the Committees events. In September of that year he started experimenting with the whole online radio thing and decided to give it a try. That's when Polish New Castle Radio came to be. People ask why Polish New Castle Radio. Well the early days of PNCR originally started under the Committees website polishnewcastle.org. We continued to fall under their website and took on a few local DJs. Ray Kolodziej of The Sunday Morning Polish Program and Dave and Vud of The Polka Revolution were the two first shows to be brought onboard. Both were shows that existed on our local AM 1200 WKST Radio Station. For years he would drive to WKST to record both shows and later replay them.
In 2012 Rob decided it was time for PNCR to go on it's own and then we moved to our current website which is known today as polishnewcastleradio.com. Since then we've acquired many new faces that have come and gone. As the years go by we've acquired many new Polka friends that we are proud to have met and continue to build a wonderful friendship with.
Yeah i figured it was about time for me to come out from hiding. This page was long overdue.
Once again I'd like to thank you all for supporting me and the PNCR Network as we continue to grow. Come and stop by and talk to us when you see us during our live remotes. We'd be more than happy to meet you in person.
